senior wardrobe guide
S E N I O R S ! <3
i am so very excited to work with you! between you and me, these are my absolute favorite sessions to shoot and edit (but just let that be our little secret) and i can't wait to create!
before reading below please keep in mind, this session is all about YOU and we both want to see your own style shine through!
if you already have a vision in mind that your heart is set on, that is GREAT! of course, there really are no rules- but this guide is for the clients who feel they'd like a little more guidance & input from someone who has edited tons of galleries and has seen all the little details that go into making each session unique.
most importantly, i want you to wear what you feel most confident in!
let's plan your session!
if you already have your outfits planned, great! but if you want a little insight on what i see most seniors do (so you have a starting point), here is how a typical session works:
most girls will pick 2 dresses/skirts, and one casual outfit
the typical "casual" outfit i've seen is either jeans and a cute top, or a more laid-back outfit like jeans and a t-shirt of their college they've committed to, for example!
some girls will accessorize with some cute nikes, converse, vans, or jordans, and some will wear heels with their denim.
get creative with your own personal style! some girls add personal spins to their sessions like using their sports jersey, wearing cowboy boots with one of their dresses, adding a fun hat, etc... be you!
*tip: if you are wearing super uncomfortable heels with any of your outfits, bring some easy slip-on shoes with just in case we need to do a bit of walking or climb any small hills during our shoot;)
(this is specifically helpful if you have a shoot at Papago Park! if we're not going there for your shoot, then this may not apply to you as much)
colors & patterns
PATTERNS : if you can, please stay away from super tiny stripes as they tend to sometimes look goofy in photos and give a weird effect in pictures! (called the moire effect)
COLORS : in my personal opinion, bright, fun colors look absolutely beautiful in photos! (as opposed to darker, muted colors) this is just my artistic opinion that works best with my personal editing style. keep in mind that the color of your outfits will completely determine the vibe if your photos
(brighter colors = colorful pictures, darker colors = moodier pictures)
think sky blue versus navy blue...
the sky blue will brighten up a photo more
however, also keep in mind your hair color, skin tone, etc... what do you look and feel best in?
most importantly, stay true to your own style!
this session is all about YOU and we both want to see your own style shine through! <3
if you already have a vision in mind that your heart is set on, that is GREAT! this guide is solely for the clients who feel they'd like a little more guidance & input, but i want you to wear what you feel most confident in!
